We are Sparta.

There has been a printout hanging above each urinal I've used in Google this week. It is a warning. It warns against dangerous assumptions noting we should be careful when comparing floating-point values in our unit tests as rounding errors may create unexpected results.

Without respite or pee-break, we are forged. Our engineering review processes are envied as diamastigosis without all the scourging.

Whenever an engineer turns 13 at Google, we send them into the valley without clothes, or wifi, or an ATM card. Those that return ... we accept.

I'm shocked people need to be reminded about floating point rounding errors. Those people shouldn't have been hired!
