C_ was very patient with me last night.

C_: "I'll just do that little part over again."

massless: "Uh, you mean like punching in?"

C_: "Yes."

massless: "Give me a sec...I just have to...look through the help files..." (pause for 5 minutes) "Hey, I just thought of an interesting idea...How about instead of just recording that one note with a crackle at the end, how would you feel about just doing your entire part again? Sound fun?"

We're involved in the process of recording a song for a compilation. The song: a version of the 1983 song, "Major Tom (Coming Home)," by Peter Schilling. Only this time, we're recording and engineering it ourselves. C_ had to wait while I stumbled through some studio basics, how to "punch in", save a track, etc…
