12 steps to better code [from Joel on software]
The chief XML architect at Microsoft talks about XML, Web Services, and the .NET framework. Should we trust him?...Softly related: I am rubbed the wrong way by the appearance of the words "chief" or "junior" in any work title. But then what do I do if I get the word "senior" in my title as has been quietly discussed? It's kin and cousin to "junior" and insures that someone working for me would get that unfortunate title. I can't think of alternatives right now, any suggestions would be appreciated...
oh wait...here's one. If you ignore the bloody history and implied hegemony, there's "czar." Other than for the aforementioned defects, it's just plain cool.
Everyone will link this story in the NYTimes about weblogs. I am willing to be a round peg in a round hole for this story…
