Net surfing as mobius loop: Me, late night clicking on links. I check my band's site, follow to my weblog, cruise to metascene, then over to misterpants and, to my surprise, wind back up at my band's site. A little thrill which I relate to you shamelessly. But after creating pop art in a vacuum for so many years (now, it's less of a vacuum thanks to some very, very wonderful people), it's always nice to know someone notices. Even if they stay up all night sewing.
In more important news: I'm excited to try Nautilus 1.0, the GUI created by Eazel for Linux...
Especially since I came across this list of innovative features in Nautilus for Linux that are not in the Mac OS or Windows. Also of note but not yet available in version 1.0: an integrated RSS headline viewer that's currently under development. (see a screenshot) Such a neat idea. It highlights the imminent obsolesence of such little news gathering experiments as my tiny little portal.
A nice man reminded me yesterday that the run-time environment for Apache 2.0 replaces POSIX functions and types with the Windows native equivalent. Replace IIS with a screaming-fast Apache? I'm dying to try it...
As mentioned above: I'm in a band. Thus, my little-tiny-mini-rant on the latest RIAA hypocrisy.
