Interpersonal relationships don't scale.

Interpersonal relationships don't scale. This author is comparing human networks to Gnutella. The common thread? The fact that in human relationships there is a limit to the number of times that the result of the phrase "let me introduce you to this person" can add a new, strong friendship to the number of quality relationships in your life and still have those relationships be manageable.

Relationships don't scale. Memory doesn't scale. Measured in years, cell replication certainly doesn't scale. Apparently, people are terrible software. :)
