Making stuff as a founder of Avocado. Former music-maker. Tuna melt advocate. Started Google Reader. (But smarter people made it great.)

The unthinkable.

Update: Most of the popular news or community servers have been restored. CNN's chronology seems like it might prove helpful as events progress to political action. Garrett will probably be on top of developments and is less in danger of being port-80-requested out of commission than some. Cam and Dave and Tim and Jason have lots of links.

Millions seem to be engaged in speculation, and it seems like the dissonance caused by lack of information and the desperate need for information is straining communication between otherwise civil entities.

I'll always remember where I was.

3AM PDT. My computer freezes late last night.

I find that my system was wiped out. I was livid! Frustrated, I started the process of recovering data and services and got my first syndication (from Meerkat) up and running just before 7am. There it was, a buried lead, about 15 or 20 stories down the page..."Planes collide with World Trade Center in terrorist attack."

My God.

What can be said? I'm stunned. What should be done? How can we help?

My little news portal is up again. But I'm saturated with horror today. May not feel up to checking its progress...
