Today's monologue - in

Today's monologue - in which a small diversion hosted on a personal web site from a developer's home computer and provided as a link from his weblog becomes a web lesson well-learned.

OH...Hi! Um, would you like to come in? I'm sorry the code is such a mess, but you see I wasn't actually expecting visitors...though I must confess it is nice to have some company on such a cold day.

Please sit down. Would you care for something to drink or perhaps something to read? I'm afraid all I have is Hobbit Tea, the neighbors come by for it and rather seems to be all the rage. And I've just visited the store this morning and got the kind with XHTML so it goes with nearly everything, dear...

The traffic these days? Yes, it's quite amazing, there's seems to be so many people in such a hurry. And rushing my poor door, all at once, don't you know, without so much as a knock, and then all of the china and the small workstations with rather little memory go a-crashing down upon the hardwood. I've no end of worry about my home now, but all told, I must confess that all that activity is not un-exciting...though I'll wager that any of the recent interest in my little home will fade toot-sweet. "There's always sweeter candy in the next jar", is what my mum used to say. And "if you can't mind the swells how will you handle the crests?" Father, that one.

Oh, the time! I didn't notice! Where is my head? My friends and I are performing tonight and I have nothing to wear! So much to prepare and so little time! I am awfully sorry but I must hasten and if you wish to visit tomorrow I will be ever so much more hospitable...

Tomorrow's post - in which a developer's experiment in news gathering gets small but well-appreciated visits...and on whether to continue it as a news sharing site.
