Fighting bigotry is like eating an Abba-Zaba: It just never ends. Some California legislators remain very confused about marriage, sexuality, and existing spousal rights and are signing this petition to attack proposed legislation which would expand the rights of domestic partners.

Lunacy. So Charlene wrote a letter. It's impressive.

"Your support of the marriage protection pledge is a tragedy, and a disgrace to the people of Contra Costa and Alameda counties. Those of us who live here, in California, in the United States, in the first year of the twenty-first century are a loving, open-minded and accepting people. We live, work, and relax in cities and counties that are populated by a million different kinds of people, and we are nothing but proud of it."

We all should write a letter. Even those of us not half as eloquent as Charlene. Though if you have the ability, please consider this a plea to apply your literary talent to a small, powerful missive.
