Every once in a while, back at work, when an executive tells me something about the company's future, I swear I can see a glitch, a short burst of static emanating from them, incongruous with their message.

Speaking of The Matrix: My friend Mike told me that Matrix 2 and 3 needs extras here in San Francisco. Interested? AICN also posted reports of a potential fight scene in Matrix 2 which would be really great, if true. "Our Neo who art in Neo, Neo be thy name..."

My friend Mike also wrote the following:

  Fade in/
  Greatness means nothing/
  Around here

which has been in my head for days...

Really insider music stuff: It's weird to meet bands nicer than us. Mike Kinsella (American Football, Joan of Arc) is also tremendously nice. And they were great to listen to/watch. Why couldn't they have been sour and haughty and mean? Then I could've gotten all mad that too many people who came to see us didn't because of a last-minute lineup change. (But they did get to see Mike and RM, which was well worth it.) With that change and the debacle recently at Cloyne where our patience, hard work, and careful planning was rewarded with the time to only play one song, my dormant testosterone is beginning to surface. Being in a band, I have no power over these situations whatsoever, but I might start pinwheeling my arms frantically and walking towards the source of my frustration. And if they just happen to get in the way...

Three more words: hugs. are. cool. (you know who you are)
