Cities have secrets.

In backyards and alleys and beyond bay windows are complete, and occasionally secret, worlds. Back in April, Dunstan took us around back of his apartment ...










The 3rd and 4th photos are much more impressive when seen in real-life than represented here. The work required to amass and maintain the collection completely tickles me.

Some secrets remain as there's an open room, with polished wooden floors and high ceilings that the owner of this building uses as a full-sized replica of a toy store to showcase an impressively large set of toys, figurines, and other collectibles.

Had we walked into a fully-functional 9-hole golf course hidden behind a Haight Street apartment, I'd have felt similarly surprised.
