Enaville.

Dad (the tan, handsome gent in the middle) somewhere near Enaville, Idaho. Possibly along the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes. Dad, is that right? (Incidentally the city of Coeur d'Alene is listed as one of the places to visit in Patricia Schultz's book 1,000 Places to See Before You Die.)

    Son,
That actually is Buster, me, his sister and their dog in '63. Beings that I was two and twenty and she just nearly 16, I engaged self control ... which was a good thing. Northern Idaho was tough and raw with whorehouses, honky tonks, deep earth miners where Arian skinheads wouldn't survive 5 minutes. A small bookshop where I met my muse Robert Service ... well I bought his book. I penned an epistle that stirred the heart of an old girl friend who married a miner. It was good. dad

Awesome country up there. I miss Idaho and MT. Wish I'd seen it back then.

Funny. Your dad looks exactly like you in that picture. Or.. you look exactly like your dad. Maybe it's the same smile you both have/had.

Anyway, saw you on that video for Google Reader. Sounds good.

    Cousin Chris..

All sorts of talk of two and twenty and self-control and Robert Service.."You mush or we all gotta die...." and the rugged beauty of Northern Idaho and skinheads (which many of us have become physically) and not one mention of the photographer who, by the way was zero and twenty and the master of self-control.. Alas the best oft' go unheralded...
